The intensive care unit at Swastik Hospital is staffed and monitored around the clock, every day of the week. Emergencies in Veraval often arrive late at night or on a Sunday, when most clinics in the area are closed, so an ICU that only runs in office hours is of little use to the people who need it.

Admission is supervised by Dr. Mahipat V. Khambhala, MD (Medicine), our critical care specialist, who reviews each patient in person rather than by phone.

Equipment in the unit

An ICU is only as good as what is available at the bedside when a patient deteriorates. Ours is equipped with:

• Ventilators for invasive support
• BIPAP for non invasive support
• Multipara monitors for continuous vitals
• Defibrillator for cardiac emergencies
• Syringe and infusion pumps
• ECG at the bedside
• Nebulization and oxygen
• Private special rooms for step down care

Call +91 83202 94081 before you set out if you can. Telling us what has happened lets the team prepare the bed and equipment while you are still travelling, which saves minutes that matter.

Bring any previous medical records, current medicines and the patient's Aadhaar card if it is to hand. If it is not, come anyway. Nothing is delayed for paperwork.
